Cubot King Kong software update
the the latest live update is starting to annoy me as it will down load, when I press to install I get a warning ( the device is about to restart and enter upgrade mode. The whole process will last for several minutes. Please do not do anything during this period to avoid failure of upgrade )
i press the OK button, file unpacks and then I get rebooting with a spinning circle, and that is that.
On Sunday night I gave the phone over 12 hours to reboot, and in the morning it was still trying to reboot

Is there still a way to start the device? But I think not.
If the Update doesn't work or run anymore, you can try to force the device to turn off by holding down the power button for at least 10 seconds.
Attention!
I can't tell you what happens with the "aborted" update, though, because it's possible that system errors or worse are left behind.

The phone works fine, the only problem is the phone won't reboot to install the latesr firmware update

Yes, my statement referred to the update that was not running.
So if it cannot finish and you can't stop it, you can only try to force the device to shut down.
But we can't tell you what the consequences are.
Hi I can stop the update with no problems. Then a few hours later, or the next day it will start the whole process from the beginning from start:- download to open file ,to install, stuck on reboot.

Have you ever tried to install the update manually in secure mode?
(It could also be a general error of the update, but we don't want to confirm this for now).

I have tried to follow the instuctions to get into safe/secure mode but it does not work , just boots up as normal
Did you press the power button and held power off?
unfortunatly even in safe mode Im not able to apply the update. Gets stuck saying its rebooting. K

Then it must be due to a faulty update. First try to disable the automatic download of updates and please wait for the next update.
